On representations of the groups Sp(n,1) and Sp(n) (Q1074730)

Some new classes of irreducible unitary representations of the noncompact group Sp(n,1), which can be useful for physical applications, are obtained. It is demonstrated that the infinitesimal operators of these representations of Sp(n,1) and the irreducible representations of \(Sp(n+1)\) with the highest weights \((m,m,m_ 3,...,m_{n+1})\) and \((m_ 1,m_ 2,0,...,0)\) are expressed in terms of the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of the tensor product of the irreducible representation of Sp(n) with the representation with the highest weight (1,0,...,0). As an example, the infinitesimal operators of representations of Sp(3) and Sp(2,1) are obtained explicitly. The technique proposed allows to construct the recurrent procedure for obtaining the infinitesimal operators of representations for higher groups Sp(n) and Sp(n,1) in the explicit form.
