    It is shown that there is a constant K (independent of n and p) such that \(\pi_{2,p}(T)\leq K(2-p)^{-1/2}\pi_{2,1}(T)\) for all operators from \(\ell^ n_{\infty}\) to any Banach space (where \(1\leq p<2)\). Also, there exists C such that for all operators of rank n on \(\ell^ k_{\infty}\) (for any k), \(\pi_ 2(T)\leq C(\log n)^{1/2}\pi_{2,1}(T)\). It follows that if T is an operator from \(\ell^ k_{\infty}\) to X, where dim X\(=n\) and \(\pi_{2,1}(I_ X)=K\), then \(\pi_ 2(T)\leq C(\log n)^{1/2}K\| T\|\). Examples are given of operators \(T_ n\) on \(\ell^ n_{\infty}\) such that \(\pi_ 2(T_ n)\geq (\log n)^{1/2}\pi_{2,1}(T_ n)\).
