Low complexity k-dimensional centered forms (Q1075021)

A new method for computing the centered form in k dimensions for polynomials and rational functions is presented. The method is not nearly as computationally intensive as the method proposed by \textit{H. Ratschek} and \textit{G. Schröder} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 82, 543-552 (1981; Zbl 0471.65025)] in that it avoids the calculation of the partial derivatives of the functions. The method is also easier to implement than the slope method proposed by \textit{R. Krawczyk} and \textit{A. Neumaier} [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 22, 604-616 (1985; Zbl 0572.65007)]. Some numerical results are given.
