On modified chain conditions (Q1075410)

The rings considered here are associative but do not necessarily have an identity element. A right A-module M is said to be almost Artinian if whenever \(N_ 1,N_ 2,..\). is a decreasing sequence of submodules of M there exist positive integers m and p such that \(N_ mA^ p\) is contained in \(N_ i\) for all i. Complete characterisations are given of almost right Artinian rings A such that every proper factor ring of A is right Artinian, and of nonprime rings A with left identity element such that all proper factor rings of A are almost right Artinian but A is not almost right Artinian.
