Let \(\{n(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) be a Markov population process with d classes of individuals, in which the only transitions permitted are the birth, death or change of class of an individual. It is assumed that the transition intensity matrix is periodic with period \(\omega\). Conditions are given under which the transition probabilities \(p_{mn}(t)\) converge to an \(\omega\)-periodic limit independent of m as \(t\to \infty\), and the conditions are discussed in relation to some epidemic models.
