    Let \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\) be a domain with smooth boundary \(\partial \Omega,\) \(V:[0,\delta]\times {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\to {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\) a smooth vectorfield on \(\Omega\) and \(T_ t\) the flow-box associated with. Then the family \(\Omega_ t\) of smooth domains is given by the homöomorphic image of \(\Omega\), i.e., \(\Omega_ t=T_ t(\Omega)\). On \(\Omega_ t\) consider the variational inequality for the stress- potential \(u_ t:\) \[ \int_{\Omega_ t}\nabla u_ t(x)\nabla (\phi (x)-u_ t(x))dx\geq \mu \int_{\Omega_ t}(\phi (x)-u_ t(x))d\quad x \] \[ \forall \phi \in K(\Omega_ t)=\{\phi \in H^ 1_ 0(\Omega_ t)| \nabla \phi (x)| \leq k\quad a.e.\quad in\quad \Omega_ t\}. \] It can be shown [\textit{H. Brezis}, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 49, 32-40 (1972; Zbl 0265.35021)] that a solution \(u_ t\) exists for each \(t\in [0,\delta)\). The purpose of this paper, however, is to present an asymptotic expansion of \(u_ t\) restricted to \(\Omega\) for small t. As a result, \(u_ t/_{\Omega}\) is given by the reference solution \(u_ 0\) \((t=0)\) and the Lagrange derivative of u in the direction of V.
