Unsolvability of the occurrence problem in Artin groups of finite type (Q1078324)

The question of the occurrence problem in Artin groups of finite type is considered. It is shown that for groups \(B_ n\), \(n\geq 4\), \(D_ n\), \(F_ 4\), \(F_ 6\), \(F_ 7\), \(F_ 8\), \(H_ 4\) the occurrence problem is undecidable and it is decidable for \(B_ 2\), \(G_ 2\), \(J_ 2(p)\), where \(p=5\) or \(p\geq 7\). The question remains open for \(A_ 3\), \(B_ 3\), \(H_ 3\).
