Let D be a strictly pseudoconvex domain and let M be the intersection with D of a submanifold of a neighborhood of D which intersect bd(D) transversally. Let f be a holomorphic function on M lying in some \(L^ p\) class. An interesting problem is to find a holomorphic extension of f to D satisfying some optimal \(L^ p\) estimate. Earlier results include those of Khenkin, Cumenge and the author. For \(x\in D\), let \(\sigma\) (x) denote the distance from x to the boundary bd(D) of D. For \(q>0\), let \(dV_ q=C_ q\sigma^{q-1}dV\) be the measure with \(C_ q\) chosen such that \(dV_ q\) is a probability measure. Let the \(L^ p\)-space with respect to \(dV_ q\) be denoted by \(L^ p_ q\) and the associated norm by \(| \cdot |_{p,q}\) and the Sobolev norm of up to s derivatives by \(\| \cdot \|_{p,q,s}\). Finally, let \(| |_{p,q,s}\) be the Sobolev norm with respect to a certain vector field. The first main theorem says that these two Sobolev norms are equivalent for a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain with smooth boundary in a Stein manifold with \(0<p<\infty\), \(0<q\), and s a positive integer. The second step extends the norm \(| |_{p,q,s}\) to include s to be any nonnegative real, and the second theorem gives a sufficient condition for two such norms to be equivalent as well as two spaces \(A^ p_{q,s}\) of holomorphic functions in \(L^ p_{q,s}\) to be identical for different q and s. After discussions of inclusion relations of various spaces, Theorem 5 is an extension theorem of extending elements in A(M) to A(D) with nice properties. Theorem 6 deals with the corresponding restriction operator from A(D) to A(M). The paper concludes with some examples and indications of further generalizations.
