Let \(L(\lambda)=\lambda^{\ell}I+\sum^{\ell -1}_{j=0}\lambda^ jA_ j\) be an operator polynomial whose coefficients are linear bounded operators acting on a Hilbert space H. L(\(\lambda)\) is called biquasitriangular if ind\(L(\lambda)=0\) for every complex number \(\lambda\) such that \(L(\lambda)\) is semifredholm. \(L(\lambda)\) is called factorable if there is a factorization into linear factors \(L(\lambda)=(\lambda I- X_ 1)...(\lambda I-X)\). It is proved that the set of all factorable biquasitriangular operator polynomials is dense in the natural sense in the set of all biquasitriangular operator polynomials. This result is further extended to factorizations of analytic operator functions with compact spectrum.
