Recently the author dealt with the uniform distribution modulo 1 of sequences f(n) \((n=1,2,...)\) and f(p) (p prime) where f is an entire function, real on the real axis and not a polynomial. A condition log \(| f(z)| =O((\log | z|^{\alpha})\) where \(1<\alpha <4/3\), guarantees the aforesaid uniform distribution. In the present note it is shown that no bound on the discrepancy, of the type \(D(N)=O(N/F(N))\) with F(N)\(\to \infty\), can be deduced from a growth condition (however strong) on \(| f(z)|\). This is done by constructing a suitable power series f.
