The authors prove that every element in the abelian group \({\mathbb{Z}}_ p\times {\mathbb{Z}}_ p\) can be written as a sum over a subset of a set A, where A is any set of nonzero elements of \({\mathbb{Z}}_ p\times {\mathbb{Z}}_ p\) with \(| A| =2p-2\).
