In the paper the author provides another proof of recent results of Harris-Sibuya and Singer [see, for example, \textit{M. F. Singer}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 295, 753-763 (1986; Zbl 0593.12014)], using some elementary commutative algebra and gives a uniform treatment for their results.
