On the decay of correlation for piecewise monotonic mappings. I (Q1079249)

The paper studies piecewise linear maps of the interval having the form \(x\to \lambda x\) (mod 1), and \(x\to \lambda x-\lambda +2\) for \(0\leq x\leq 1-1/\lambda\); \(x\to -\lambda x+\lambda\) for \(1-1/\lambda <x\leq 1\). The author gives some conditions in terms of Fredholm determinants which guarantee mixing of these maps with respect to their absolutely continuous invariant measure. In the mixing case the author determines the decay rate of correlations.
