The author's result generalizes a result of \textit{F. Holland} [Math. Ann. 202, 85-87 (1973; Zbl 0246.30027)] which determines the set of extreme points of the Carathéodory functions. Let H(U) be the set of holomorphic functions defined on the open disc U. Let \(P=\{f\in H(U):\) Re f\(>0\) and \(f(0)=1\}\). (This set is denoted by \(P\Lambda_ 0\) in the present paper) Holland's result states that the set of extreme points \(E_ p=(1+\epsilon z)/(1-\epsilon z)\), \(| \epsilon | =1\). The author defines his special subclass of P, denoted by \(P\Lambda_ n\), by adding to the definition of P, given values of the first n derivatives at the origin. Let Q(n) denote the set of functions \[ \sum^{n}_{k=1}\lambda_ k\frac{1+\epsilon_ kz}{1-\epsilon_ kz},\quad \lambda_ k\geq 0,\quad \sum^{n}_{k=0}\lambda_ k=1 \] \(| \epsilon_ k| =1\), for all k, \(\epsilon_ i\neq \epsilon_ j\) if \(i\neq j\). The author's theorem states that the set of extreme points \(EP\Lambda_ n\) are the functions of \(P\Lambda_ n\) that can be represented in the form \(Q(2n+1)\).
