The initial-value problem for elastodynamics of incompressible bodies (Q1080684)

The authors prove short-time well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for incompressible strongly elliptic hyperelastic materials. They reformulate the classical equations to solve for the pressure gradient, and solve the reformulated equations using energy estimates to bound the grow of various Sobolev norms. They also find the solutions as the limit of a sequence of solutions of linearized problems.
