    Let \[ Lu\equiv \sum^{n}_{i,j=1}a_{ij}(x,t)(\partial^ 2u/\partial x_ i\partial x_ j)+\sum^{n}_{i=1}b_ i(x,t)(\partial u/\partial x_ i)+c(x,t)u-\partial u/\partial t \] with smooth real coefficients in the domain \(Q=\{(x,t):\) \(x\in \Omega (t)\subset R^ n\), \(t>0\}\) with sufficiently smooth lateral boundary \(S=\{(x,t):\) \(x\in \partial \Omega (t)\), \(t\geq 0\}\). Assume that c(x,t)\(\leq 0\), \(\sum^{n}_{i=1}b^ 2_ i(x,t)\leq m^ 2\), the matrix \((a_{ij}(x,t))\) is symmetric and \(a(x,t)>0\) and A(x,t) are its least and greatest eigenvalues, \[ a_ 0=\liminf_{t\to \infty} \inf \{a(x,t): x\in {\bar \Omega}(t)\} \] and \[ A_ 0=\limsup_{t\to \infty} \sup \{A(x,t): x\in {\bar \Omega}(t)\}. \] Let u(x,t) be the classical solution of the problem \(Lu=0\) in Q, \(u(x,0)=u_ 0(x)\) in \(\Omega\) (0) and \(u| S=0\). If, for all sufficiently large t, the domain \(\Omega\) (t) lies inside the layer \(| <\beta,x>| <\ell (t)\), where \(\beta \in R^ n\), \(\| \beta \| =1\), the function \(u_ 0(x)\) is bounded and \(m \limsup_{t\to \infty} \ell (t)(\ell n t)^{-1}<a_ 0,\) then u(x,t)\(\to 0\) as \(t\to \infty\), uniformly with respect to x. On the other hand, if, for all sufficiently large t, \(\Omega\) (t) contains the \(\ell (t)\)-ball (at 0), c(x,t)\(\equiv 0\), \(b_ i(x,t)\equiv b_ i(x)=-mx_ i\| x\|^{- 1}\) outside a compactum \(K\subset R^ n\), \(u_ 0(x)>0\) in \(\Omega\) (0) and \(m \liminf_{t\to \infty} \ell (t)(\ell n t)^{-1}>A_ 0,\) then, for any compactum \(K_ 1\subset R^ n\), \(\liminf_{t\to \infty} u(x,t)\geq const.>0\) for all x in \(K_ 1\).
