One of the significant steps in theoretical physics taken during the recent past in investigating the various aspects of critical phenomena is introduction of the renormalization group of Wilson and the allied techniques. In this paper a novel momentum-spaced RG-method, called the scaling-field method is proposed and studied for solving Wilson's exact functional differential equation by successive approximations. Emphasizing on the foundations, algorithms for computation of the field coupling coefficients are developed for isotopic vector models. Recursion relations for various functions of interest along with particulars of numerical approaches are given. In this long article of 61 pages including a series of Appendices the authors have treated an important subject in an exhaustive manner thus covering a wide spectrum of topics around Wilson's renormalization group methods for research in critical phenomena. Here is a good place to look for detailed results in such an important field of work.
