The following system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations \[ (1)\quad x(t)=\int^{t}_{z(t)}f(\tau,t,x(t))dt,\quad p(t)=\int^{t}_{z(t)}\phi (\tau,t,x(t))dt \] with respect to the unknown functions x(t), z(t), \(t\in [t_ 0,T)\), is considered. The functions f(\(\tau\),t,x), \(\phi\) (\(\tau\),t,x) are continuous in \((- \infty,T)\times [t_ 0,T)\times {\mathbb{R}}\) and \(p(t)\in C^ 1_{[t_ 0,T)}\). Moreover, if f, \(\phi\) are Lipschitzian in t and x and some additional hypotheses are satisfied, then the system (1) has a unique solution \(x(t)\in C_{[t_ 0,T)}\), \(z(t)\in C^ 1_{[t_ 0,T)}\).
