Generalizing a definition of concurrent Finsler vector fields given by \textit{M. Matsumoto} and \textit{K. Eguchi} [Tensor, New Ser. 28, 239-248 (1974; Zbl 0287.53045)], the authors say that a Finsler vector field \(X^ i(x,y)\) is concircular if \(X^{i}_{| j}=k_ jX^ i+\rho \delta^{i}_{j}\), \(X^ i|_ j=0\), where \(\rho =\rho (x)\), \(k_ j=\partial_ jk(x)\) and ' resp. \(|\) denote h- resp. v-covariant differentiations with respect to the Cartan connection. They prove that the components \(X^ i\) and \(X_ i\) of a concircular Finsler vector field are functions of position only and it is also concircular with respect to the osculating Riemannian metric associated to it. Studying special Finsler spaces admitting a concircular vector field they find that the following: Landsberg, 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional satisfying the condition of Brickell's theorem, C-reducible of (\(\alpha\),\(\beta)\) metric, P-reducible, \(c^ h\)-recurrent, are Riemannian. The others satisfy some nice identities on the curvatures.
