A solution in closed form of the problem of micropolar space in plane deformation state, uniformly and uniaxially stretched and containing a cylindrical inclusion, is given in elastostatics. The concentration of stresses at the inclusion boundary for extreme cases of elastic inclusions (void and perfectly rigid inclusion) is discussed in connection with the classical and the couple stress theories.
