The author examines the uniqueness and continuous data dependence problem for the coupled micropolar fluid systems of partial differential equations describing incompressible flow in an unbounded domain. With the aid of a stronger version of a lemma used for the classical case by the author [Rev. Roum. Math. Pures Appl. 29, 547-559 (1984)], the uniqueness results are established. The continuous dependence results are obtained by modifying a method previously used by \textit{J. R. Cannon} and \textit{G. H. Knightly} [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 18, 627-640 (1970; Zbl 0202.372)]. It is interesting to note that by considering the special case of the general result where the microrotation vanishes, one gets results for classical Newtonian fluids that are stronger than results previously obtained. The contents of this paper will be of interest to theoreticians in the field of non-Newtonian fluid mechanics.
