Theta series of ternary quadratic forms (Q1084129)

Using arithmetic methods introduced by \textit{J. S. Hsia} and himself [Invent. Math. 73, 151--156 (1983; Zbl 0513.10021)], the author establishes linear independence of theta series of ternary quadratic forms in two cases: 1) for even positive definite ternary forms over \(\mathbb{Z}\) of discriminant \(2p^2\) which have a nontrivial automorphism group, where \(p\neq 2\); 2) for even positive ternary forms over \(\mathbb{Z}[(1+\sqrt{p})/2]\) of discriminant 2, that represent 2, where \(p\equiv 5 \bmod 8\).
