Let A denote the family of regular functions of the form \(f(z)=z+\sum^{\infty}_{n=2}a_ nz^ n\) \((| z| <1)\) and \(S^*(\beta)\) denote the family of functions satisfying the conditions \[ Re(zf'(z)/f(z))>\beta (f(z)\in A,\quad 0\leq \beta <1). \] f(z)\(\in B(\alpha,\beta)\) means that \(Re(zf'(z)f(z)^{\alpha - 1}/g(z)^{\alpha})\) \((\alpha >0\), \(0\leq \beta <1)\), where f(z)\(\in A\) and \(g(z)\in S^*(0)\). Furthermore, \(f(z)\in B_ 1(\alpha,\beta)\) means that f(z)\(\in B(\alpha,\beta)\) and g(z)\(\equiv z\). This paper deals with the properties of B(\(\alpha\),\(\beta)\) and \(B_ 1(\alpha,\beta)\). The typical results are the following. (i) Let f(z) belong to the class B(\(\alpha\),\(\beta)\) for \(g(z)\in S^*(\beta)\), where \(\alpha\) is a positive integer and \(0\leq \beta <1\). Then F(z) defined by the integral \(F(z)^{\alpha}=((\alpha +c)/z^ c)\int^{z}_{0}t^{c- 1}f(t)^{\alpha}dt\) (c is a positive integer), belongs to the class B(\(\alpha\),\(\beta)\). (ii) The set of all points \(\log (z^{1- \alpha}f'(z)/f(z)^{1-\alpha})\) \((| z| <1)\) for f(z) ranging over the class B(\(\alpha\),\(\beta)\), is convex. (iii) Let f(z) belong to the class \(B_ 1(\alpha,\beta)\), where \(\alpha\) is a poisitive integer and \(0\leq \beta <1\). Then \(F_ 1(z)\) defined by the relation \(F_ 1(z)^{\alpha +\gamma}=z^{\gamma}f(z)^{\alpha}\) belongs to the class \(B_ 1(\alpha +\gamma,\beta)\) (\(\gamma\geq 0)\). (iv) Let f(z) belong to the class \(B_ 1(\alpha,\beta)\) \((\alpha >0)\), \(0\leq \beta <1)\). Then \(Re(f(z)/z)^{\alpha}>(1+2\alpha \beta)/(1+2\alpha)\).
