The authors consider the numerical solution of the Poisson equation with a mixed boundary condition. The process involved is to transform the coordinates of the system to a system with coordinate lines coincident with the boundaries of the system. The system is discretised, and it is indicated how overlapping cells can be used to ensure the smoothness of solutions across boundaries. The results, but not the analysis, are given for a problem associated with an electron gun.
