[For part I see the preceding review, Zbl 0606.92007.] A one-dimensional model of the left ventricle is developed in which this is represented by a narrow cylindrical tube. The myocardium is taken to be a flexible sponge bounded by two impermeable plates representing the epicardium and the endocardium. Periodic motions are imposed on the epicardium and the endocardium. Extensive numerical results are presented in graphical form.
