The paper continues the previous author's publications and belongs to the author's program to develop the theory of measured foliations and pseudo- Anosov mappings entirely in context of quadratic differentials and Teichmüller mappings. After an initial review where ''absolutely extremal'' and ''stable'' Teichmüller mappings are introduced it is proved that the associated quadratic differentials have uniformly distributed trajectories. The number of fixed points of stable maps and their iterates are explicitly computed. Stable mappings of a torus are described and are used to construct stable mappings on surfaces of any genus. The action in the universal covering surface of lifts of stable Teichmüller maps is studied. It is proved that two recurrent trajectories on a finitely punctured surface cannot be ''asymptotic'' in either direction.
