The authors compare the functional \(equations\) f(x\(+y)f(x-y)=f(x)^ 2-f(y)^ 2\); \(f(y)[f(x+y)+f(x-y)]=f(x)f(2y);\) g(x\(+y)+g(x-y)=2g(x)g(y)\); \(g(x-y)=g(x)g(y)+f(x)f(y);\) f(x\(+y)+f(x-y)=2f(x)(1-2f[(y/2)]^ 2)\) for complex-valued functions of real variables \(\{\) the authors like the last equation; on the other hand it cannot be directly generalized to groups not divisible by \(2\}\). They examine the sets of zeros of the solutions and determine all continuous solutions of the equations for which they were not known before.
