A new method for the synthesis of digital transfer functions (DFT) is developed. The purpose is to obtain structures that possess good properties with respect to the internal signal-overflow. The method is based on the synthesis of an appropriate allpass function followed by the so-called LBR (Lossless Bounded Real) extraction. The procedure is restricted to the class of DFT which have all the zeros on the unit circle in the z-plane. The structures obtained in the paper are related to someones encountered in wave digital filters and orthogonal filters. The paper is of great interest for those working in the area of DFT synthesis.
