    Let \(L^ 2\) be the space of real-valued measurable \(2\pi\)-periodic functions with the norm \(\| f\|_ 2=\{1/\pi \int^{2\pi}_{0}| f(x)|^ 2dx\}^{1/2}.\) For a function \(f\in L^ 2\) denote by \(\omega (\delta,f)_ 2=\sup \{\| f(x+h)- f(x)\|_ 2:| h| \leq \delta \}\) the modulus of continuity of f and by \(E_ n(f)_ 2=\min \{\| f-T_{n-1}\|_ 2:T_{n-1}\}\) designate the best approximate of a function f by trigonometric polynomials \(T_{n-1}\) of order n-1. If \(\tau\) is a fixed positive number then note \(K_ n(\tau)_ 2=\sup \{E_ n(f)_ 2/\omega (\tau /n,f)_ 2:f\in L^ 2,f\not\equiv\) const\}. In the present paper for a small \(\tau\) the constant \(K_ n(\tau)_ 2\) is calculated; more precisely for \(\tau =\pi /m\) where m is a natural number and \(m\geq 1+3n/2\) the following equality is proved: \[ K_ n(\tau)_ 2=(+\frac{\cos (\tau /2)-}{\tau \sin (\tau /2)})^{1/2},\quad n\in N. \]
