The following result is proved: Every stable Banach space with an unconditional basis is isomorphic to a complemented subspace of some stable Banach space with with a symmetric basis. Moreover, the author shows the stability of the real interpolation spaces \((\ell^ p,\ell^ q)_{\theta,X}\) where \(1\leq p,q<\infty\) and X is stable. This last result has been recently extended by Y. Raynaud and the author by proving the stability of the real interpolation spaces \((A_ 0\), \(A_ 1)_{\theta,X}\), whenever X is stable and \(A_ 0\), \(A_ 1\) are stable r.i. spaces satisfying some other side conditions. This will appear in a forthcoming paper.
