Let R be a parabolic open Riemann surface and G be an end of R having a single boundary component \({\mathfrak p}\) of R. In one of his previous papers [ibid. 5, 97-119 (1976; Zbl 0319.30020)], the author showed that if the harmonic dimension of \({\mathfrak p}\) is finite and F is a closed set in G which is ''completely thin'' at \({\mathfrak p}\), then \(G\setminus F\in O_{AB}\). In this paper, the author gives an example of an end of the above type for which the harmonic dimension of \({\mathfrak p}\) is equal to 1 and for which if F is a closed set in G such that F is irregular at \({\mathfrak p}\) (namely, F is thin at the unique Martin boundary point over \({\mathfrak p})\) and stisfies certain ''sparse'' conditions, then \(G'\setminus F\in O_{AB}\) for any subend G' of G.
