Let \(f(z)=\sum^{\infty}_{k=0}a_ kz^ k\) be an entire function of order \(\lambda\) \((0<\lambda <\infty)\). The author proposes to obtain precise information regarding the distribution of zeros of the partial sums \(s_{m-1}(z)=\sum^{m-1}_{k=0}a_ kz^ k,\) as \(m\to +\infty\) through values of a suitable sequence. The problem of studying the angular distribution of the zeros of \(s_{m-1}(z)\), in first approximation was solved by \textit{F. Carlson} [Sur les fonctions entires, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris 179, 1583-1585 (1924) and Ark. Mat. Astron. Fys., Ser. A 35, 1-18 (1948; Zbl 0033.267)] and \textit{P. C. Rosenbloom} [Sequences of Polynomials, Especially Sections of Power Series, Ph. D. dissertation, Stanford Univ. (1943) and Lectures on Functions of a Complex Variable 265-285 (1955; Zbl 0067.052)]. The paper contains considerably sharper theorems such that the property (i): the coefficients of Taylor expansions are explicitly known; is not directly used in the proofs whereas the property (ii): as \(z\to \infty\), the asymptotic behavior of f(z) is simple and easy to describe; plays a dominant role.
