The problem of nonlinear system control using sliding mode technique is considered. It is assumed that diffusion type random signals are acting on the system. An estimate of the time of stay in a neighborhood of the equilibrium point is given based on the disturbance characteristics, together with a controller that assures this stay time. An example involving a two-link manipulator is also presented.
