    Setting \(v(x)=(1-x)^{\alpha}(1+x)^{\beta}\), \(\alpha\),\(\beta\geq -1\), \(x\in (-1,1)\), we denote by \(P_ n^{\perp}(v)\), the set of all integrable functions g which satisfy the conditions that \(\| g\|:=\| g\|_{L^{\infty}(-1,1)}<\infty\) and \(\int^{1}_{- 1}g(x)p(x)v(x)dx=0\) for every polynomial p of degree at most n. Following \textit{G. Freud} and \textit{J. Szabados} [Mat. Lapok. 21(1970), 253-257 (1971; Zbl 0252.41004)], the author shows that \(\| \int^{1}_{- 1}g(x)v(x)dx/\sqrt{1-t^ 2}v(t)\| \leq c_ 1\| g\| /n,\) where \(c_ 1\) is a constant depending on \(\alpha\),\(\beta\) and x. Considering the weight function \(u(x)=x^ re^{-x}\), \(r\geq 0\), \(x>0\), the author proves a similar inequality in the direction of a corresponding result due to \textit{G. Freud} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 201, 1292-1294 (1972; Zbl 0254.41004)].
