Admissible subrings revisited (Q1089919)

In a previous paper [Geom. Dedicata 18, 11-33 (1985; Zbl 0568.51010)] the authors have studied neighbor-preserving homomorphisms between projective ring planes. To facilitate the description of them they have introduced the notion of an admissible subring. The aim of the present paper is to simplify the algebraic characterization of such subrings and to show that admissible subrings are useful to describe neighbor-preserving homomorphisms in higher dimensions.
