Let B be a ring, A an H-separable extension of B [cf. \textit{K. Sugano}, Osaka J. Math. 4, 265-270 (1967; Zbl 0199.079)] and \(V_ A(B)\) the centralizer of B in A. The authors use torsion-theoretic methods to determine when the canonical inclusion of B in \(V_ A(V_ A(B))\) is a right flat epimorphism of rings and also, when the equality \(B=V_ A(V_ A(B))\) holds.
