    This paper deals with a best possible decay rate of scattering states cut off near the zero energy for the Schrödinger operator \(H=-\Delta +V(x)\) in \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ n)\), \(n\geq 2\), with a real-valued long-range potential satisfying \[ D_ x^{\alpha} V(x)=O(| x|^{-| \alpha | -\epsilon})\text{ as } | x| \to \infty,\quad \epsilon >0, \] for all multi-index \(\alpha\). Let \(\chi(\lambda)\in C^{\infty}({\mathbb{R}}^ 1)\) be such that for some \(d>0\), \(\chi(\lambda)=1\) if \(\lambda >2d\), \(\chi(\lambda)=0\) if \(\lambda <d\). Then for any \(s\geq 0\) there exists a constant \(C_ s>0\) such that \[ \| <x>^{-s} e^{-itH} \chi (H)<x>^{-s}\| \leq C_ s(1+| t|)^{-s},\quad t\in R^ 1, \] where \(\| \cdot \|\) stands for the operator norm in \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ n).\) For the proof, regularity theorems of generalized Fourier transforms developed by the author and also a parametrix of \(e^{-itH}\) in terms of a Fourier integral operator are fully used.
