Let R be a C-algebra (C some commutative ring), and let \(f=f(x_ 1,...,x_ d)\) be a multilinear homogeneous polynomial in d non-commuting variables and with coefficients in C, not all of which annihilate R. Then R is called an f-radical extension of a subring \(A\subseteq R\) if, for every \(r_ 1,...,r_ d\in R\), there exists \(n=n(r_ 1,...,r_ d)\geq 1\) with \(f(r_ 1,...,r_ d)^ n\in A\). In case A is the center of R, the polynomial f is said to be power-central valued. The main results of this paper are as follows: Let R be prime with no nonzero nil left ideals and suppose that R is an f-radical extension of \(A\subseteq R\). Assume that f is not power-central valued and, if char R\(=p>0\), assume further that f is not an identity for the \(p\times p\)- matrices in char p. Then: (1) If A is a division ring, then \(R=A\). (2) If A has no nonzero nilpotent elements, the R is a domain. (3) If \(\psi\) is an automorphism of R which is the identity on A, then \(\psi\) is the identity on R.
