Theory of solids with microlocal parameters, developed recently by \textit{Cz. Woźniak} [e.g. Int. J. Eng. Sci. 25, 483-498 (1987; Zbl 0607.73010)] and his collaborators, traces its origin back to the nonstandard approach to solid state mechanics. This theory makes possible to derive simple and accurate formulae for effective elastic media with a periodic structure. The aim of the present paper is twofold. Firstly, by virtue of the explicit introduction of a parameter \(\epsilon\) (characterizing a microstructure of the media) there are derived the governing equations of the microlocal parameter model without referring to the nonstandard analysis concepts. Secondly, the far-reaching analogies between the effective problem obtained for the hypothetic homogeneous body and the averaged problem following from the homogenization theory have been proved. The considerations are confined to the model, second order elliptic problem with periodically varying coefficients.
