Using the linearized systems of equations due to Kalisky governing the physical phenomenon in magneto-thermo-microelasticity valid for isotropic, centro-symmetric media with no spin, we have examined the problem of wave propagation in such a medium. More specifically, we have reduced the governing system of equations to a single wave equation consisting of different order wave operators. The normal mode analysis carried out has revealed the existence of highly coupled modes both for dissipative and non-dissipative material. The characteristics features regarding the interaction of various waves and their dependence on the dissipative processes have been brought out using Whitham's techniques, thus arriving at several remarkable conclusions concerning their damping, diffusion and relative times of dependence.
