In the present study an explicit-implicit method is extended to non- conservative equations. Some turbulence models are introduced in a Navier-Stokes solver, and various coupling features between the density- weighted averaged Navier-Stokes equations and the transport equations for the turbulent quantities are also examined. The source term is treated by a third factorization, which avoids the need for prior knowledge of the analytical content of the RHS terms. To illustrate the capacity of this numerical method to predict turbulent flows, a time dependent calculation is presented which converges to a steady state solution. The results are better using a two equation turbulence model than a classical algebraic formulation. This method can be used for prediction of the strong shock- boundary interaction in a two-dimensional transonic nozzle. The calculations for a supersonic twelve degree compression-expansion flow show promizing results using a second-order closure turbulence model. The computational results are in good agreement with experimental measurements.
