    This note describes a generalized minimum variance (GMV) control algorithm for square systems. The controller embeds an integral action on the error vector. It is shown how an appropriate yet simple choice of some design parameters guarantees overall asymptotic stability for open loop asymptotically stable and possibly nonminimum phase plants.
