[For part III see ibid. 321, 39-47 (1986; Zbl 0592.39005).] This is the fourth of a series of papers devoted to the study of periodic solutions of second-order nonlinear difference equations containing a small parameter. Here a multi-discrete time method is developed for investigating the limit cycle behaviour and its stability properties. Three examples illustrating the method are given.
