Increasing semicontinuous functions and compact topological lattices (Q1093947)

We characterize those topological lattices X for whch there exists an order preserving homeomorphism from X into a compact lattice in terms of the ability to approximate bounded increasing semicontinuous functions on the space by continuous increasing ones. We must, however, require that the topology of the space be locally convex.
