Numerical investigations reveal a class of neutral curve in infinite Taylor-Dean flow not previously observed. Based on the work of \textit{P. Hall} [J. Fluid Mech. 124, 475-494 (1982; Zbl 0503.76054)], asymptotic expansions at the high-wavenumber end of the neutral curves are given. Previously, an interpretation had been given by \textit{D. C. Raney}, and \textit{T. S. Chang} [Z. Angew. Math. Phys. 22, 680-690 (1971; Zbl 0227.76059)] for the curves observed by \textit{T. H. Hughes} and \textit{W. H. Reid} [ibid. 15, 573-581 (1964)]. Using the above expansions and Rayleigh's criterion, an alternate explanation is proposed in this paper which takes into account the new phenomena.
