Games in coalitional form are considered as pairs (N,v), where N is a subset of the set of players and v is a real-valued function defined on the set of all subsets of N, with \(v(\emptyset)=0\). The paper investigates the reduced game property and the converse reduced game property, well-known from \textit{M. Davis, M. Maschler } and \textit{B. Peleg} for some solutions of coalitional games. It is shown that these properties are satisfied by the core and the prekernel. Further, axiomatic characterizations for these two solutions are given involving the reduced game property and the converse reduced game property.
