Modelling of devices as generalized system components (Q1094360)

A general scheme of mathematical modelling of systems is suggested. The treatment is based on the principles of conservation of energy and power, and formally resembles the general equations of dynamics. Distinction is made between spontaneous processes and those with interactions with their environment. The scheme enables to consider also different kinds of energy conversions. The results (description of particular kinds of devices) in form of partial difference equations are obtained from the general scheme by imposing special assumptions. An example explains this process.
