The authors consider partially ordered sets with weak orthocomplementations and derive basic properties of such structures. As examples they discuss the lattice of all generalized characteristic functions (fuzzy sets) and a special class of self-adjoint bounded operators in Hilbert space (``fuzzy'' projections).
