The authors consider the integral equation of the first kind \((1)\quad \int^{\infty}_{0}k(t-\tau)\phi (\tau)d\tau =f(t),\quad t>0\) in the Sobolev space of distributions. They apply the factorization method for the investigation of equation (1). Reviewer's remark: The main result of this work is not new. Nearly twenty years ago this reviewer investigated a multidimensional analogue of equation (1) in Mat. Sb., N. Ser. 80(122), 77-96 (1969; Zbl 0182.187).
