The author studies the weak convergence of a sequence of finite measures \(\{\mu_ j\}_{j\in {\mathbb{N}}}\) on [a,b]\(\subset {\mathbb{R}}\) to the unit (Dirac) measure \(\delta_{x_ 0}\) where \(x_ 0\in (a,b)\) with convergence of \(\int f d\mu_ j\) to \(f(x_ 0)\) where \(f\in C^ m([a,b])\) for some \(m_ 0\geq 0\) is such that \(| f^{(m)}(t)-f^ m(x_ 0)|\) is convex in t. Using standard moment methods, upper bounds and best upper bounds are obtained for \(| \int_{Q}f d\mu - f(x_ 0)|\) where Q is a convex and compact subset of \({\mathbb{R}}^ k\), \(k\geq 1\). The corresponding sharper estimates for Bernstein polynomials, Szász-Mirakyan operators and Weierstrass operators are also deduced.
